Metamorphosis by Yellow
A few words...
Metamorphosis by yellow, is a project that was showcased in MEME art space in Metaxourgio in May 2019. A sketch of what is to become a challenging project with many new inputs.
The scenario places Gregor Samsa through the struggles of his new cockroach body, his demanding job position and his relation with his family. The whole text is based on the homosexuality of the writer represented by his lead actor Gregor Samsa and his inability to communicate his queerness and adjust to the micro society of his family and society in general. In our play Gregor is accompanied by Spring who celebrates freely without him outside in the fields, while he is stranded in his room in his torturous quarantine, and Time who ticks the clock emerging him to take action.
In our proposition the story of Kafka continues in the afterlife of Gregor, who wakes up in paradise reunited with his human body, however everyone else is a cockroach and eat him. In Paradise he meets Princess Daphne who is a woman and cannot respond to his sexual needs, since he is gay. She is a hologram on stage. What is and is not. A figure of imagination and a phantasma.
Our proposition also promotes a system of online messaging, where online viewers have the opportunity to propose lines for the actors. Therefore, the performance will be open for screening both on stage and online.

The Challenge
The challenge for both actors and director is vast and large!
The director must devise a well skilled plan, an automation method where all that may derive on the part of the audience is thought of and expected. Supply the actors with sketches and outlines on tone of voice and kinisis where all scenarios fall into a well managed opportunity for the actor to act. Text of origin will be as a safe plan there to help the actors avoid confusion, or be able to perform in case of lack of messages. The director must work very hard so as to imply a directing method even though so much will depend o the public. We will invite certain people to join the online performance so as to facilitate and encourage messages from the public.
There will be three cameras recording, one at the back of the auditorium shooting full frame of the stage, one camera will be shooting close ups, and a third camera will be handled by actor Spring - Georgia Ampouranty, who will be filming on stage while acting. The footage of spring will serve as set design material. It will be projected on the wall at the back of the stage, presenting the anguish of Gregor and creating the effect of drama. The camera that will be shooting close ups, will serve as footage for the online streaming, to share views of the stage, as if the viewer was watching the live performance. However, the view will be selective form the streaming controller who will direct what is viewed in the online screening.
Technology is a tool and a big challenge. We are able to promote our guest to have an interactive opinion on our work and shape the play according to their thoughts and preferences. Each performance will be so different and so dependent on the eyes that witness it. The quest have a big role to play on the outcome of the play. It is a game!
The interaction follows for the first half of the performance, the second half exists with the monologue of Gregor in anguish, speaking to a hologram, a princess, a dream. The hologram can project in pure darkness, so little light is allowed for Gregor, the scene is played in the Dark, as dark is the fate of Gregor who fails to find salvation even in paradise.
We are a group of 13 plus technical staff, with clear responsibilities for all, the producer and director must be maestros to outline the production of the performance, to foresee difficulties and all the technological hazards that may occur. This is why we give time in advance for the preparation of the hologram and the online messaging system and requirements. All members of the team have strong abilities and great experience in what they have been invited to do. We are a group of people from different fields working for the same cause!!

Τι όμορφος που είσαι!!Γιατί έχεις δυο μάτια? Γιατί δεν έχεις τρίχες στο στήθος σου? Γιατί δεν έχεις πέος? Γιατί τα χέρια σου τρέχουν ακατάπαυστα προς όλες τις κατευθύνσεις όχι όχι μην μην με αγγίζεις μην με χαϊδεύεις το σώμα μου είναι όλο πληγές πονάω παντού μην με κοιτάς έτσι τα μάτια σου έχουν να πουν μια ιστορία ιδωμένη από αλλού μου θυμίζεις τόσα πράγματα θυμάμαι εμένα παιδί να τρέχω στους δρόμους και να πέφτω να ματώνω τα γόνατα, μου θυμάμαι το χάδι της μητέρας, μου θυμάμαι και εσένα, σε ξέρω τόσο πολύ, είσαι ένας άγνωστος σε εμένα, και τι μακριά πόδια που έχεις, με αυτά κάποιον θα τυλίξεις, OXI εμένα! Φύγε! Μακριά! τι όμορφος που είσαι, πρέπει να είσαι κάποιος θεός ή κάποιο άγαλμα κάποια ζωγραφιά του Τζιορτζιόνε, από αιώνες γνωστός και γνώριμος, οικείος, απόμακρος, πεθαμένος, ηχούν σάλπιγγες μέσα μου, άγρια άλογα θέλουν να σε κατακτήσουν, ίσως να μπορούσα να σε φιλήσω μια φορά, αλλά θα έχανα το όνομα μου. Το όνομα μου δεν είναι κάτι και τόσο σημαντικό, αλλά τι να γίνεις χωρίς όνομα. Ίσως με ένα σου χάδι να γινόμουν εγώ, αλλά φοβάμαι ότι πάλι θα γίνω ο κανένας, ένα άδειο κουφάρι πεθαμένο από ηδονή, όχι είσαι μία ιδέα, μία εικόνα, μία φευγαλέα σκέψη, μία στιγμή δροσιάς σε ένα παράδεισο άδειο από εικόνες και στίχους, είσαι η Κίρκη, αλλά πάλι δεν πάω πουθενά. η μόνη μου έγνοια τα δάνεια και η αδερφή μου αχ να 'χει μια καλή τύχη, γιατί δεν έχεις πέος? μια ρωμαλέα δύναμη και ένα θεληματικό πιγούνι? είσαι μια κούκλα! μια αλαβάστρινη κούκλα, ούτε μιλάς καλά καλά, δεν πειράζει. Μην μου σπας την σιωπή μου… μακάρι βέβαια να είχα έναν άνθρωπο να πω μια κουβέντα πού και πού, όχι για πολύ, έτσι λίγο, να αλλάξει ο ρους της ημέρας, μία κουβέντα μόνο, αλλά εσύ δεν μιλάς, και έτσι είναι βέβαια καλύτερα. μπορεί να έχεις μια παράφωνη φωνή που να αμαυρώσει την ομορφιά σου. θα ήθελα να έχεις αντρική φωνή, να μου μιλούσες σαν φίλος. φίλος καινούργιος, πονηρός και τσαχπίνης, βαθύς και στρωτός. θα μιλούσαμε για την συνέχεια της ανθρωπότητας, μα πως θα μπορούσες να καταλάβεις την μοναξιά? την ισοπεδωτική αυτή την αδιέξοδη μοναξιά που γεννάει σκέψεις και σε διασκεδάζει και μετά σου παίρνει τα χέρια και τα πόδια. πως μπορείς να νιώσεις την απελπισία? όλα αυτά πέρασαν! τώρα είμαι … είμαι .. λεύτερος, άδειος, μόνος πάλι, αχ και να 'μπαινα για λίγο στο τραίνο για μια μόνο διαδρομή…. τι είναι ελευθερία, δεν την επέλεξα την ζωή μου. ήρθε από μόνη της και μου κάθισε στις πλάτες. πλάτες σκυφτές και αδύναμες. που να σηκώσουν ελεύθερους ανθρώπους και εδώ πάλι δεν έχω τίποτα πια να κάνω, μόνο έρπομαι στον κενό χώρο με τα δέντρα, που μία γίνεται σεληνιακό τοπίο, μία γεμίζει ανθούς και κάτι παραπλανητικές ομορφιές αλλά είμαι σίγουρος ότι όλα είναι ψεύτικα! τίποτα δεν υπάρχει πιο ψεύτικο, ακόμα και από όνειρο. μα δεν υπάρχει κανείς? αλλά ναι υπάρχεις εσύ, που με κάνεις να νιώθω μικρός, με κάνεις να νιώθω σαν να πήγα επίσκεψη στο μουσείο. ναι μικρός, να θαυμάζω όλα αυτά τα πανύψηλα αγάλματα σαν την φτερωτή νίκη της Σαμοθράκης, που αφήνει τα πάντα ασάλευτα, σιγή ιχθύος, και πώς να σου εξηγήσω το σώμα μου, δεν είχα φίλους, δεν προλάβαινα, και έτσι είμαι συνηθισμένος να μιλάω με τον εαυτό μου, ή να μην μιλάω καθόλου. το μόνο που θα 'Θέλα είναι να διάβαζα λίγο την εφημερίδα του πατέρα, κάτι για την πολιτική ή για κάποιο νέο που μεταμορφώθηκε σε σκαθάρι ή σε γλάρο. όλα ουτοπίες! μα που πας? μην φεύγεις! κάτσε για λίγο ακόμα εδώ να σε κοιτάω, να θυμάμαι ότι είμαι άνθρωπος, που λίγο έχει σημασία πια, σε αυτόν τον τόπο, ούτε να πεθάνει δεν μπορεί κανείς! ίσως να υπάρχει κάτι μετά από τον παράδεισο, κάτι που να σε κάνει να νιώθεις σαν να 'σαι πάλι στην μήτρα της μάνας σου, ασφαλής, και έτοιμος για όλα, για μια φανταχτερή ιστορία παρμένη από παραμύθι. πόσο βαριέμαι
